English language learners

Learning English is essential for success at school and effective participation in Australian society. We can provide specialist support to help students learning English as an additional language or dialect (EAL/D).

The schools EAL/D program includes language tutoring. The tutoring aims to improve a range of communication skills including:

  • subject specific language
  • assignment assistance
  • general literacy
  • career oriented abilities.

Selection of targeted students are determined according to need and motivation. Additional support may be offered by request during the schools Wednesday afternoon homework club.

If you have any concerns or questions please contact EAL/D Coordinator, Mr Hutton.

Mr Hutton can be contacted in the English staffroom or via email at jeremy.hutton9@det.nsw.edu.au.

For more information, see the department's EAL/D education page.
