Sport and physical activity is a valued and accepted part of our school's curriculum, contributing to the development of the whole child. It provides a vehicle for social, physical, emotional and moral learning and is an important expression of our culture.
The participation, enjoyment and skill development of our students is the corner-stone of the school sport/physical activity program. All our students take part in this program.
There are also opportunities to represent our school at inter-school sports competitions. As a NSW public school we benefit from the opportunities for shared activities and competitions with other schools, coordinated by school sport associations.
See theĀ School Sport Unit website for details.
Tuesday afternoon sport
Our Tuesday sports program allows students to participate in a wide range of traditional and modified sports that allow them to experience a variety of challenging and engaging environments.
We compete in Prospect Zone grade sport which gives students the opportunity to trial for a specific sport team and play against other local schools.
Term 4 sport includes a variety of extracurricular activities not normally offered throughout the year. These include: tenpin bowling, rock climbing, laser-tag and swimming
Sport bus passes are available for purchase at the accounts office for $30 which will cover a students sport bus trips for approximately 2 terms.
Pendle Hill High School values sport as an important part of the school curriculum. Recently we have been lucky enough to have multiple students representing both NSW and Australia in a number of sports.
Students get a range of opportunities to play different sports whether it be at carnivals, grade sport, gala days, knockout teams, lunchtime tournaments or recreational sport.
Sydney West Sport Association Calendar
Sydney West is the local representative sport level, above the Prospect Zone, for our school and other schools in our region. Students can qualify to compete at the Sydney West level through participating in cross country, athletics and swimming carnivals at the Prospect Zone level. See the most up to dateĀ Sydney West Sports Association information.
